It introduces the essential skills and techniques of biathlon through engaging, hands-on learning, interactive games, and club competitions, all while emphasizing fun and participation. Modeled after Cross Country Canada\u2019s Jackrabbits and Track Attack programs, it is designed for weekly sessions that cater to both beginners and experienced young athletes, allowing them to advance at their own pace.<\/p><p>Upon completing the Biathlon Bears Program, based on their age and interest level, athletes are encouraged to continue their development by enrolling in either the Biathlon Bears Racer program or a competitive program suited to their age group.<\/p><p>Download the program pamphlet to learn more.<\/p><h3><strong>Schedule<\/strong><\/h3><p>The Biathlon Bears Program runs Saturday afternoons between 1:30pm &#8211; 3:00pm at Kamview Nordic Centre&#8217;s lower stadium from \u00a026 Oct 2024 to 29 Mar 2025.<\/p><h3><strong>Program Fee<\/strong><\/h3><p>Program Fees covers<\/p><ul><li>Use of Daisy 853C Air Rifles<\/li><li>Consumables, (pellets, paper, etc)<\/li><li>Coaching Fees in program<\/li><li>Certificates, Pin and badges<\/li><\/ul><h3><strong>Competitions<\/strong><\/h3><p>Athletes will have the opportunity to compete in the following events:<\/p><ul><li>Bruno&#8217;s Cup on 29 Mar 25<\/li><li>Jack Rabbit Games, Date TBD<\/li><li>BiON 0.22\/Air\/Laser Rifle Championships on 01-03 Mar 2025<\/li><\/ul><h3><strong>Membership Requirements<\/strong><\/h3><ul><li>Biathlon Bears athletes must be registered with Biathlon Canada and Biathlon Ontario as detailed on our <a title=\"Fees and Registrations\" href=\"http:\/\/lakesuperiorbiathlon.com\/wp_dir\/?page_id=59\">registration page<\/a>.<\/li><li>Trail pass at Kamview Nordic Trails to be purchased separately.<\/li><\/ul><h3><strong>Equipment Needed<\/strong><\/h3><ul><li>Skate Skis, poles and boots<\/li><li>Proper winter attire for being active outdoor<\/li><li>Daypack with extra mitts, gloves,\u00a0 toques, socks, etc..<\/li><li>Water bottle\/Thermos<\/li><\/ul>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>General Information The Biathlon Bears program is a three-tiered skill development initiative for children aged 8 to 14.
