General Information
The Biathlon Bears program is a three-tier skill development program, designed for children between the ages of 8 and 14. The program introduces skills and techniques of Biathlon while promoting fun and participation through hands-on learning, interactive games, and club competition events. It is similar to the Jackrabbits and Track Attack programs developed by Cross Country Canada. Designed for weekly sessions, it accommodates both the beginner and the most experienced young athletes by allowing them to progress through the program from the level that they are currently at.
Upon completion the Biathlon Bears Program, their age and the level of interest in the sport, the athlete will be encourage to continue he/her growth in program by enrolling in either the Biathlon Bears Racer program, or one of the competitive programs for their age group.

Schedule
The Biathlon Bears Program runs Saturday afternoons between 1:30pm – 3:00pm at Kamview Nordic Centre’s lower stadium from 14 Oct 2023 to 31 Mar 2024.
Program Fee
Program Fees covers
- Use of Daisy Air Rifles at no charge
- Consumables, (pellets, paper, etc)
- Coaching Fees in program
- Certificates, Pin and badges
Competitions
Athletes will have the opportunity to compete in the following events:
- Bruno’s Cup, Date TBD
- Jack Rabbit Games, Date TBD
- BiON Air Rifle Competition, Date TBD.
Membership Requirements
- Biathlon Bears athletes must be registered with Biathlon Canada and Biathlon Ontario as detailed on our registration page.
- Trail pass at Kamview Nordic Trails to be purchased separately.
Equipment Needed
- Skate Skis, poles and boots
- Proper winter attire for being active outdoor
- Daypack with extra mitts, gloves, toques, socks, etc..
- Water bottle/Thermos
